Following the recent, successful release of LAMP VA build 150, here is an unofficial preview release of our first XVA (Xen Virtual Appliance)!

This version of the LAMP VA can be directly imported into XenExpress, XenServer, or XenEnterprise virtualization products from XenSource.

Paid support contracts are available for those wishing to immediately deploy the LAMP XVA into a production environment.

This VA uses a stock Ubuntu 7.04 Server Edition paravirtualized Xen kernel, so it can be used on hosts that do not have Intel VT or AMD-V hardware virtualization

Previously we had focused on the OSS Xen hypervisor found in most current Linux distributions. This is our first foray into the commercial XenSource space.

We welcome any user feedback on our support forums. Even if it’s just to say that you’ve downloaded it and it works, that is greatly appreciated.

Eventually all of Virtual Appliances models will be available in XVA format.

Build 25 adds compatibility with more versions of Microsoft Windows acting as shared storage.

We also introduce a tool to check the shared storage configuration, including mounting, and file system operations. This makes trouble shooting shared storage faster and easier.

Virtual Appliances are getting smaller on every build. The Xen Base Virtual Appliance, which provides a static content webserver, is now only 9.4MB to download.

Virtual Appliances, leader in nano-sized virtual machines for Xen and VMware announces the first Tomcat Virtual Appliance for instant J2EE applications. Virtual Appliances are now available for VMWare and Xen, based on Gentoo Linux and
free to use.

The Tomcat VMware Virtual Appliances is just 65MB to download. The Base Xen Virtual Appliance, which provides a web server, is just 12MB. Both include the Virtual Appliances Secure Web Management
interface.
